Recently I adopted a rescue kitten, whom we named “LuLu.” She and Charlie are acclimating to one another quite nicely – she has already taken over his bed, and in some cases his food bowl!

Although she was a rescue, I think in actuality pets rescue us. They provide unconditional love, constant attention, and a worldview that’s always in the present moment. They’ll never betray you. Although my new “family” is more work, they are so worth it because they remind me to take time and smell the roses. There’s something about taking care of a small furry being that simply melts your worries.
