Often we have grand designs of what we would like to accomplish – a desire to tilt the earth, to establish ourselves as an authority, or to achieve international recognition—not realizing our sphere of influence lies much closer to home, right within our own backyard.

When we do an exemplary job at work, tend to our family, behave as a friend or contribute within our community, we fulfill our calling. Our focus is then an inch deep and a mile wide, with contributions where can we have the most impact – closest to home where we place our personal signature on each moment.

If our focus narrows to what we can influence, we can have tremendous impact in our respective sphere. Staying local (though it may seem little) is a way to magnify our efforts.
